Having finished ninth last season and therefore failing to qualify for the Champions Cup, new coaches Todd Blackadder and Tabai Matson will be looking for their new side to gain momentum and push for silverware in a competition which may well register highly on their list of priorities.

A first English crown in 20 years eluded Mike Ford’s exciting squad despite some scintillating rugby typified by a play-off taming of Leicester Tigers. Springbok star Francois Louw’s eyes - and those of his club-mates - remain firmly on the prize, however...
“The 2015 World Cup was a great tournament and obviously a privilege to be part of as a member of the South Africa squad that finished third. Now, though, it's really good to be back at Bath after such a long time on the road.

So England have earned the unwanted honour of becoming the first host nation to not make it out of the group stages of the Rugby World Cup.
Stuart Lancaster's men fell victim to the so-called group of death, facing both Wales and Australia and losing to both. A nation, whose hopes were sky high, was in mourning. Media outlets rued our lack of success at the very highest level in cricket, rugby and football.
