Six-year-old Mangotsfield School pupil Jaxson Perry has displayed a prodigious natural talent on golf courses all over the world since first picking up a club on a family holiday. A 27-handicap junior member at The Kendleshire, Jaxson has proved a big hit in the national press and on YouTube, and last August flew home from the US Kids 2016 World Golf Finals in North Carolina with three trophies carefully stored in his luggage.

Once incredibly popular, table tennis is enjoying something of a renaissance in Bristol thanks to the free Ping! initiative staged across the city during the summer months.

Team GB’s Paul Drinkhall impressed at the Rio 2016 Olympics but the nation have yet to win a medal in a sport dominated by the Chinese. After a run of success at home and abroad, 12-year-old pupil at St Bede’s Catholic College Louis Price is hoping to change that statistic one day...

Tour of Britain 2016: Excitement builds ahead of stages in Bristol and Bath

The country’s premier cycle race rides into the West at the start of September, on the back of another huge Olympic medal haul from the Rio Games. Starting in Glasgow on the September 4 it takes in the Lake District, the North West of England and Wales before heading to Bath four days later and Bristol on September 10. It reaches its conclusion in London the following day.
There will be two key Westcountry stages:

Lawrence Dallaglio has enjoyed every minute of the Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour but would love nothing more than for a new breed of champions to join him and the class of 2003 the next time it hits these shores.

England's number eight on that famous night at Sydney's Telstra Stadium 12 years ago has been joined by Jonny Wilkinson, Jason Robinson et al as the Webb Ellis Cup has toured the country in the build-up to the big kick-off over the past couple of months.
